Celebrate My Life

Comic Relief' 2009 The Apprentice

Paul Ross & Joanne Good

This morning I again feel it a great priviledge to be able to convey my experience, strength and hope.
Whilst I am truly grateful, it is also important to mention that seldom does a day pass, when I do not have thoughts of nearest and dearest, who are sadly no longer alive. A number of loved ones have been separated from me as a result of - sadly, much in common with Jade Goody -having been diagnosed with Cancer...
At these times, I find listening to Shirley Murdock's www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shirley_Murdock 'Celebrate My Life (D.J's song) www.music.aol.com/song/celebrate-my-life-djs-song/3973942 helpful.

Bette Midler

I awoke a short time ago and - great start to the day - listened to 'The Wind beneath my Wings www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiS8YokFzeY by Bette Midler www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bette_Midler on BBC London Radio's www.bbc.co.uk/london/radio/ Kath Melandri show.

I am currently now watching the compelling Al Pacino in Dog Day Afternoon.

The Wind Beneath My Wings [Lyrics]

It must have been cold there in my shadow, to never have sunlight on your face.

You were content to let me shine, that's your way, you always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory, while you were the one with all the strength.

A beautiful face without a name -- for so long, a beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Chorus

Did you ever know that you're my hero, and ev'rything I would like to be?

I can fly higher than an eagle, 'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed, but I've got it all here in my heart.

I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it, I would be nothing with out you.

Chorus

Did you ever know that you're my hero, and ev'rything I would like to be?

I can fly higher than an eagle, 'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly, fly, fly away, you let me fly so high.

Oh, fly, fly, so high against the sky, so high I almost touch the sky.

Thank you, thank you, thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.

'Dare To Live'

For the last two days, the beautiful, inspirational book 'Dare To Live' reflections on fear, courage and wholeness
www.amazon.co.uk/Dare-Live-Reflections-Courage-Wholeness/dp/1846941202 by Miriam Subirana www.oxfordleadership.com/pool/miriam-subirana-profile.pdf a gift to me from a friend, has been accompanying me on my travels around the Capital.

My mother rang me today, to say that she had gone out of her way to purchase her own personal copy of this weeks 'Voice Newspaper'. My mother explained that she had read my interview and, was of the opinion that both she and I were - each in our different ways - carrying the message... My mother in Spiritual circles and me, in the World.

True to form, my mother spent most of the conversation discussing my son. Once again my mother mentioned that she would like my son to have a check up with his G.P, just to make sure he has recovered since being poorly at the weekend.

I am delighted to announce that at approximately 7.00hrs this forthcoming Friday morning, after meeting with Gemma the producer, I will be in the studio and company of Joanne Good & Paul Ross on Breakfast BBC London Radio 94.9fm www.bbc.co.uk/london/radio/

Before leaving work today, one of my colleagues - a trained psychiatric nurse - made my day, by introducing me to the film 'Dog Day Afternoon' www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog_Day_Afternoon starring Al Pacino www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Pacino

Tomorrow morning, while volunteering at The Mental Health Foundation www.mentalhealth.org.uk/ I will ask my colleagues if they have seen this film.

This evening, I was on television. BBC London www.bbc.co.uk/london/ My version of this broadcast can be viewed in the following video.

What's Love Got To Do?

Yesterday, I had a conversation with someone who agreed that Tina Turner is an amazing mentor, and was also eager to watch the film 'TINA: What's love got to do with it' http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What) www.imdb.com/title/tt0108551/

The BBC London piece that I star in, which was filmed recently at my Westminster office, is going to be aired tomorrow - Wednesday - on BBC1. It will run between 1830-1900.
I will also appear on the Comic Relief appeal film. This will be aired sometime during Friday evening / Saturday morning... please do watch out for the film (sorry I can’t indicate the time, I simply don’t know).

I am looking forward to seeing my son. This Saturday I will be watching a performance of 'Oliver!' with him.

Later on this month the Quaker Lesbian & Gay Fellowship will meet on Saturday 21st March 2009 at 5 p.m. at Westminster Friends Meeting House, 52 St. Martins Lane, WC2. There will be tea, Meeting for Worship and then a discussion on the topic

"What does Meeting for Worship mean for you?".

Good News.

This afternoon, I entered Westminster Cathedral for the first time.
Good News,
I have now succesfully booked to view the film 'Out Late' on Sunday 5th April 2009, at the forthcoming British Film Institute www.bfi.org.uk/ 23rd Lesbian and Gay Fim Festival www.bfi.org.uk/llgff/

Today I briefly perusing the book 'Who's Who in Gay And Lesbian History from Antiquity to World War II, Edited by Robert Aldrich and Garry Wotherspoon. I again noticed Henry Stuart www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Benedict_Stuart
Born in Rome - where he lived and died - (1725-1807), Cardinal of York... Was fond of same-sex relationships, much like me.
