What Do You Think?

You may recall that December 2nd 2008, on my return from three weeks annual leave, I was filmed by http://www.annexfilms.co.uk/ for a future mental health campaign. Well that campaign is now almost upon us. What do you think of the following sneek preview?

Shame.

26.
Whilst studying at Luton 6th Form College, and very much taken with Evelyn 'Champagne' King's www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evelyn_King_(singer) hit single, 'Shame' www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxNqRFBqWzU Aside from maintaining my membership as a musician, in a local band with other 14 to 16 year old males and females, my main focus was on joining the Royal Air Force www.raf.mod.uk/ Despite much effort on my part, including taking a trip to London's Goodge Street, one rainy, windy day, to be interviewed, I was unsuccessful. It then fell to my mother to pick up the pieces - such was the extent of my disappointment. All was not lost, as one of my first cousins successfully joined the British Army.
When I then mentioned that I was toying with the idea of joining the Police Force. My mother, having been the daughter of a Police Constable, a sister of a Police Chief Superintendent and the partner of a Police Constable, in hindsight may well have felt frazzled.
Thirty years on, I have got over my teenage disappointment, and would say that there are many valid ways to serve.

'Onwards & Upwards'.

This evening, I watched 'Margaret Thatcher: The Long Walk to Finchley' www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00c188n/Margaret_Thatcher_The_Long_Walk_to_Finchley/
which was broadcasted on BBC Four on 30th December 2008.

I have already mentioned that Lady Margaret Thatcher www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher
and I share the same birthday - October 13th. However I am a Friday 13th born, Metal Ox.

Margaret Thatcher has been one of my favourite role models and mentors for many years. I just love her 'The lady's not for turning' www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQ-M0KEFm9I statement. In my case, it would be the perfect response to any unhelpful, and dated negativity, directed towards my gay sexuality and lifestyle.

JOY.

25.

Earlier today, I received my Gohonzon at the SGI-UK, South London National Centre, in Brixton.

Sweetie pie little Felix, who will be three months old tomorrow, made a special appearance for this occasion.

Little darlings, Luka, Scout and Mar, were also present and later witnessed my Gohonzon being enshrined.

As I write, I am listening to 'Joy' www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEb9iYtRVeo

What To Do?

28.

The bottom line is: I am a mother. To me, time spent with my son is more precious than gold dust. I felt pleased that he paid attention to detail and enjoyed 'The Nutcracker' ballet. I am also delighted to have two additional aircraft sketches, that he drew especially for me.

Today, I asked my son about his dreams and aspirations. To be honest, he didn't reveal anything to me that came as a surprise. But that in itself has left me questioning, what is the best way forward?

My son has been within Rudolf Steiner school education all his school life. This has provided much for him and allowed him to develop in so many positive ways. In my opinion, it was worthwhile, appropriate and has provided my son with a solid unshakeable foundation. Now based on our conversation today, I realise that a change is necessary. But, I am wondering, which local independent school would have the ability to support my son to further develop his dreams and aspirations? Taking into consideration, my son's Rudolf Steiner education foundation.

Tomorrow, I will be spending time with my little cherub (my son). I will be taking him to the Royal Opera House www.roh.org.uk/ to see 'The Nutcracker' ballet.

The Dalai Lama.

Oh, what a night!

Celebrating the New Year in, with outstanding performers such as Sir Elton John, Will Young and Alexandra Burke www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsuXbkrA_AQ was not only much welcomed, but was in fact a godsend.

On the forth day of this month, I will receive my Gohonzon. I have not yet purchased a butsudan. It will come, all in good time.

Now that I have come to the end of my 'The Secret' www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b1GKGWJbE8
